Cool keyring. The coal is suspended in the plastic/acrylic.
From the picture on this website, I couldn't tell if this coal free inside a hollow ship body, or if the entire ship is plastic and the coal is suspended inside it. It is the latter. So while you can not handle the coal, it is safer from breaking apart when you move it a lot with your keys. Very reasonable price for an interesting conversation piece.

This is cute. I probably would use it on a key but you could. It's exactly as pictured. Everyone thought it was very neat.

Coal Titanic Key Chain
I love it. It's such a lovely little gift. I've seen so many documentaries about what happened on that tragic night and so often there are the images of the coal debris. Having that little piece of coal moves my experience into one of spectator to a touchstone of that tragic reality. I didn't get the key-ring because it was "cool" or fun, but because I feel so connected, as do so many others, to those who perished there. It is a real treasure.

Really like it
I really love the keychain however, this is my 3rd one. The ship tends to break off and gets lost. The first one broke quickly so the 2nd one I added a little dab of super glue on the pin that holds the ship and it lasted years. I will do the same for my newest one and wear it proudly on my key ring.
